Hong Kong has been at the forefront of implementing world-class regulation in sustainable finance. The Green and Sustainable Finance Cross-Agency Steering Group coordinates the management of climate and environmental risks faced by the financial sector and addresses technical cross-sectoral issues. The Steering Group also supports the development of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards to provide a global baseline and meet broader stakeholder information needs. A working group has been set up to develop a comprehensive Hong Kong roadmap on the appropriate adoption of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards.

The Centre coordinates the efforts of financial regulators, Government agencies, industry stakeholders and the academia in capacity building and policy development, and serves as a knowledge and resource repository to support the transition to a more sustainable development pathway.
The Centre has established working groups to develop strategies and roadmaps to promote capacity building and develop data repository and analytics capability. The working groups will consult other stakeholders when formulating their recommendations.
