Hong Kong's Climate Action Plan 2050

Climate-related or Carbon Reduction

The Hong Kong’s Climate Action Plan 2050 is the fourth major environmental policy plan published this year (2021). It brings together the overall strategies, plans, targets and actions for Hong Kong to achieve carbon neutrality before 2050. In searching for net-zero carbon electricity supply, various zero-carbon energy sources and power generation technologies are being developed around the world. For Hong Kong, the safety, reliability, affordability and environmental performance of energy supply are the major considerations. Equally important is reducing energy demand, as it will help lower the costs of achieving carbon neutrality.
