Transition finance is critical for reaching net zero goals. As a regional sustainable finance hub, Hong Kong can play a leading role in facilitating transition activities in Asia.
The Steering Group strives to support transition planning, disclosure of transition plans by corporates and financial institutions, and transition finance through policy measures, incentives and capacity building.

In December 2024, HKMA issued a circular setting out some good practices for banks to make reference to when conducting transition planning. - SFC’s Circular on Management and disclosure of climate-related risks by fund managers
The SFC requires fund managers managing collective investment schemes to take climate-related risks into consideration in their investment and risk management processes and make appropriate disclosures under the Fund Manager Code of Conduct (FMCC).
